In November the safety group had its yearly meeting with the ATSB in Canberra. The meeting was attended by subcommittee members, VIPA’s President John Lyons, and the General Manager, Warwick Renton-Gibb. It was an opportunity for Warwick to meet members of the safety group and to see how the group operates and deals with important safety and technical issues. Following the subcommittee meeting, Stu Ryan and the team gave a presentation to ATSB Air Accident Investigators and managers on high altitude VMO/MMO events. The briefing was very well attended and received by the ATSB staff. VIPA continues to have considerable input into the Australian aviation safety and maintains cooperative arrangements with both Australian and overseas airlines and agencies.
